Expert Advisor for MT4: Testing ScalpeTronic EA on XAUUSD

Hello, colleagues!

Recently, I have become interested in automating trading on MetaTrader 4 and decided to test one of the expert advisors that works in automatic mode. This is Scapletronix EA, an interesting trading algorithm that can open and close orders on different currency pairs independently.

I chose standard parameters for the test:

Currency pair: XAUUSD (although the robot supports other major pairs as well).
Account type: ECN.
Initial balance: $1000.
Trading: fully automated, without manual intervention.
The robot turned out to be quite easy to set up - I installed it in a few minutes, and it immediately started analyzing the market and opening trades. I especially liked the multi-currency trading: although the main focus was on XAUUSD, it also opened trades on other major pairs.

I'm still testing and watching the results. I wonder if any of you have worked with similar solutions for MT4? I would be grateful for tips on how to optimize the parameters for long-term stability.

Could you share your experience of using EAs for gold or multi-currency trading?

Hi Vladlena, and thanks for sharing your test!

Trading Gold (XAUUSD) with automated systems is highly lucrative but requires robust risk management due to its volatility. For long-term stability on ECN accounts, I highly recommend using a dynamic spread filter and avoiding trading during high-impact news events, as slippage can heavily impact scalping EAs.

If you are looking for fully optimized, battle-tested algorithmic setups specifically designed for XAUUSD and major currency pairs with proven historical stability, you should definitely check out this community and resource:

It offers great insights on parameter optimization and advanced portfolio management for EAs.

For long-term stability I would optimize with fixed lot first, otherwise compounding can hide weak periods. Keep the final 20–30% of data completely untouched and test the selected settings there with higher spread and some slippage. For multi-currency trading also check combined exposure, because EURUSD, GBPUSD and gold can all become one big USD position. I prefer a wide stable parameter area over the single most profitable set
