Is trading over the weekend a viable strategy, or is it better to use that time for analysis and preparation for the week ahead?

Trading is limited over the weekend because most major marketplaces are closed. However, cryptocurrency exchanges are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, making weekend trading a feasible option for crypto traders. Weekend trading may have less liquidity and increased volatility. Traditional markets frequently use the weekend for study and preparation for the coming week. It is critical to weigh potential earnings against decreased market predictability.

The major obstacle in weekend trading is transaction costs (spread, slippage) due to low liquidity. There are still opportunities especially if important news are released on weekends, hence you can position yourself ahead of market response on Monday.

Some traders do trade on weekends, especially in markets like cryptocurrency, but I think it can be riskier. Many others prefer to use the weekend for analyzing and getting ready for the upcoming week's trading. It really depends on your style and what you're comfortable with.

Trading on weekends, particularly in markets like cryptocurrency that operate 24/7, does appeal to some traders. It's true that this comes with its own set of risks given the potential for lower liquidity and higher volatility.
