My Experience with Forex Broker FP Trading: Two Months of 'Under Review'

Two Months, One Leaked Email, and a Broker That Changed Its Story

I want to share something that happened to me with FP Trading, because I think it says more about how proposals get handled behind the scenes than most public statements from brokers ever do.

The pitch, and the silence that followed

I approached FP Trading in June with a straightforward business proposal — a set of premium forex-related domains that could suit their branding or marketing needs. Nothing unusual about that kind of outreach in this industry.

What followed was two months of the same four words, repeated over a dozen times: "we are checking your request." I sent pricing. I sent context. I waited patiently, because FP Trading is a name most of us in this space recognise, and I assumed that recognition came with a functioning internal process.

The email that wasn't supposed to reach me

Here's where it gets interesting. After nearly two months, following a formal complaint about the delay, a reply from FP Trading accidentally included a piece of internal correspondence about my own case:

"Just ignore him for now. I am following up with our marketing team to contact this guy and resolve it."

Two months of "under review," and that's the sentence sitting behind it.

A company that changes its story depending on who's asking

This is the part I think is genuinely worth discussing. When I first filed my complaint, FP Trading told me — in writing — that it would be handled under their official Complaints Handling Procedure.

Weeks later, once I pushed for a resolution or compensation for the lost time, their position flipped entirely: no client relationship had ever existed, their complaints process therefore didn't apply to me, no compensation was payable, and the matter was closed — with no further correspondence to follow, across any channel.

Same company. Two contradictory positions. Both on record.

What I'm not saying

I'm not disputing FP Trading's right to decline a commercial proposal — that's entirely their call, and I've said so from the start. What I am pointing to is the gap between what a company tells you while it's stalling, and what it tells you once it wants the conversation to end.

Why I'm posting this

Not to relitigate a domain sale. I'm posting it because "under review" is a phrase a lot of us hear from brokers and counterparties, and I think it's worth asking what that phrase actually means in practice — versus what it's meant to sound like while you wait.

I have the full email and correspondence trail supporting all of this, happy to share it with anyone who wants to look closer. Curious whether others here have run into something similar with brokers or vendors in this space.
