What is forex indicator?

When traders talk about "forex indicators," 99% of the time they're talking about technical indicators in the context of currency trading.

Basically, technical indicators are computerized calculations used to forecast price changes in financial markets. They can be applied to any chart, including those of currencies.

The calculations are based on past market prices and sometimes volume. Because currency trading is decentralized, meaning there's no central exchange that would record all transactions, volume data is not accurate.

And, how can you find the best forex indicators for you?

Indicators are ideal for rule-based trading
Indicators take out the guesswork by providing information that is totally objective. Especially new traders or traders who are struggling with discipline can benefit from that.

If you are a trend trader, for example, you can use indicators as filters. You might have a rule that says that you can only look for long trading opportunities on the lower timeframe when price on the higher timeframe is above a certain moving average and when the RSI is rising, or when the Stochastics are pointing upwards. Using higher timeframe filters by using indicator based rules often work wonders for new traders.

Of course, there are many other possible use cases but the idea is always the same: pick an indicator that supports your trading style and your objectives, then use it as a filter and wait for additional criteria. Moreover, You can join a forex forum for learn more about forex reliable indicators.

Trend indicators are mathematical price averaging. Based on this, the movement of the price (trend) in the future can be predicted. This group of indicators is characterized by the following behavior:

*. After a trend (price movement) appears in the market, the indicators alert about its start.

*. A certain time passes from the moment of the trend reversal to the moment of receiving the signal of the trend indicator – this is called indicator lagging. Therefore, prior to the appearance of the signal the price has already passed a part of the trend movement. At that, lagging of trend indicators contributes to higher reliability of signals provided by them.

*. If there is no trend in the market, the indicators provide many false signals. Therefore, working with them is justified only if there is an evident trend on the chart.

Thank You

I have been using RSI for quite a long time. Sometimes the signals are correct and sometimes they are far from what actually happens. And now I am planning to use moving averages along with RSI to get confirmation from it so that I reduce the chances of losses to some extent.

These are all the indicators I have ever used. But since I had to settle with two of them, I chose MACD and RSI to use in conjunction. One indicator helps in finding the entry and exit points and when the other one also confirms the same signal, I enter a trade.

According to me, fibonacci extensions and moving averages are simple and usable indicators. Moving average can be used for scalping and fibonacci extensions can be used to determine good entry and exit levels for a trade. Traders might find other indicators useful too according to their understanding and skills.

Thanks for posting this list! It can be difficult to find legitimate trading indicators on the internet, there are so many bad ones out there.

Moving averages are my favorite. It gives me an idea of the overall market sentiment at the macro level. If the price is above the moving average, the buyers are controlling the market price and if it's below the moving average, the sellers are controlling the market price.

These are good indicators. Their use also depends on your trading style. For instance, RSI, ATR, and SMA are very helpful for scalper or short-term traders
I agree! Using particular indicators depends on the trading strategy a trader is using. A trader should prefer using two or three indicators rather than relying on one indicator so as to be sure about the trade.

Fibonacci extensions and moving averages, in my opinion, are simple and useful indicators.
Moving averages and fibonacci extensions can be used to determine good entry and exit levels for a trade.
Depending on their knowledge and skills, traders may find other indicators useful as well.

There are so many indicators in forex trading tools, personally, I often use Bollinger band and RSI and moving average as help tool, however each indicator has its own imperfection, should to understand indicator can't draw the price, but indicator take from the price

Forex trading indicators are curated to depict short-term price trends and are beneficial for finding the apt currency pair, price levels and time to enter or exit a trade. The most reliable indicators in my opinion are moving averages and Relative strength index. Moving averages is a formula used to calculate the average of the market movements for a longer time to identify trends while RSI is used to indicate overbought or oversold conditions in the market.

Thank you for explaining all these indicators so well. Indicators can be really helpful tools, especially for beginners to make profitable trading decisions. I personally think moving average and trend indicators are very reliable and accurate.

A broker allows traders with a number of trading facilities besides acting as an intermediary. ECN and STP brokers should be given the highest level of priority. FXOpulence provides two types of accounts including ECN and classic.
